Constructing Your Future

Constructing Your Future works under the umbrella of the London Green Skills Partnership to direct training and employment opportunities to the unwaged, disengaged and marginalised sectors of society as well as those in a working environment who want or need upskilling to meet market and own CPD directives.

We engage with employers, locally and nationally, to determine the skill set that they require in potential employees and via modular QCF unit programmes produce a “pathway to employment” for learners.

In essence, we determine the exit strategy prior to engagement with the learner. This is a very unique approach which aims to promote employer led engagement within the training arena.

Conduit Workforce

Conduit Workforce sets up mobile classrooms on development sites, giving opportunities to upskill and secure qualifications for employment in the construction industry. This can be accomplished through access to sites and nominated subcontractors with permission to allow temporary classrooms.

There are several ways Conduit Workforce support such venture: Opportunities which are created through s106’s and KPI’s.

Upskilling – Due to the recent construction recession many construction workers are unable to keep up their certificate and now struggle to secure employment opportunities. The site classrooms will assist in securing such benefits

Training/Apprenticeships – Working with ATAs, they are able to move apprentices from site to site and employer to employer.

Match funding and support via partnerships within the Green Skill Partnership, TUC union Learn, CITB, UCATT and UNITE union.

Green Skills Partnership

Green Skills Partnership brings together unions, employers, local councils, environmental organisations, education providers, community groups and state agencies to deliver green skills training in construction, retrofit, horticulture and waste management. Jointly we are directly supporting the design and deliver of sustainability training and employment opportunities.

Through the Green Skills Partnership, Action Now, Constructing Your Future and Conduit Workforce CIC have been brought together to combine a working delivery plan to supply to councils and employers.
